King Evelthon Beach Hotel & Resort: plan your stay

King Evelthon is a stronger fit for a holiday built around the resort than for a week of walking out into central Paphos. Choose it when pools and family activities will occupy much of the day, and organise a few deliberate outings from its Chloraka seafront setting.

A good fit for

Families who want a substantial resort base with pool time and seasonal waterpark facilities.

Worth weighing up

The harbour and Old Town are separate outings; the summer facilities programme should not be assumed in winter.

The Chloraka location changes the daily plan

King Evelthon is on the coast north of the Tombs of the Kings area, between central Paphos and the resorts farther up the coast. Treat a harbour evening as a journey out and back, not a quick stroll from the lobby. This is useful if you want to spend most of the holiday at the hotel; it is less convenient if independent harbour restaurants are the plan every night. Coral Bay is another separate destination to the north.

Waterpark and summer facilities: choose the season deliberately

The operator lists its waterpark for April–October and its three outdoor bars and Greek, Mexican and Italian à la carte restaurants for May–October. Those published operating windows are not a promise that every facility opens every day. For a family whose booking depends on the slides, obtain the dates and admission terms before choosing a non-refundable rate. A winter stay should stand on its own merits without the summer waterpark programme.

Pools, children and quieter time

Facilities include indoor and outdoor pools, a children’s splash pool with slides, a playground, gym and spa. These give families several ways to divide a day, but they do not establish pool temperatures or the age rules for every activity. Decide whether your children mainly want swimming, slides or supervised sessions. The hotel advertises a kids club; its current age bands and session arrangements are a separate question from having booked a family room.

Room choice and dining should work together

Compare the room’s sleeping arrangement before paying for a better outlook. Land, side-sea and front-facing views are different products, and a family room should not be assumed to provide a separate bedroom. When comparing board packages, count how many lunches and evenings you expect to spend away from the resort. The presence of à la carte restaurants does not mean unrestricted access is included in every rate; use the selected package’s restaurant allowances.

Two outings that complement a resort stay

Start with the Tombs of the Kings for an archaeology outing on this side of Paphos. Save the harbour and Archaeological Park for another day, allowing time for a meal before returning. If you want a sand-focused beach day, compare Coral Bay separately rather than treating the hotel’s seafront position as evidence of a broad sandy beach. This keeps the excursions purposeful and leaves plenty of time to use the resort you are paying for.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Compare the room, not just the hotel.

For slide-led holidays, establish waterpark opening and admission for the exact stay. Match any à la carte allowance and family sleeping layout to the booked rate.
