THE DETAILS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Paphos hotels with heated pools: what winter guests need to check
Compare outdoor family pools, indoor swimming and seasonal heating before booking a winter hotel in Paphos. A heated-pool filter alone does not tell you who can swim or when.
| Property | Published heating arrangement | What that means |
|---|---|---|
| Almyra | Main outdoor pool and children’s pool: heating listed 15 November–30 April. | An outdoor family option; confirm your exact dates and any maintenance. |
| Elysia Park | Indoor pool heated year-round; communal outdoor pools unheated and seasonal. | Apartment living with an indoor swimming option, not a warm outdoor lagoon. |
| Imperial Island | Imperial Island’s FAQ lists indoor heating in November only; outdoor and children’s pools unheated. | A November heating statement does not establish winter-long swimming. |

Which Paphos hotels heat an outdoor pool?
Almyra’s published dates make it a useful starting point for an outdoor winter swim: the main and children’s pools are listed as heated from 15 November to 30 April. Those dates matter at both ends of the season. A visit in early November is not covered by the same promise as a visit in December. Heating also does not remove the wind or make the walk back to your room warm.
When an indoor pool is the better choice
If you mainly want a dependable place to swim rather than a poolside afternoon, compare indoor facilities first. Elysia Park lists year-round heating for its indoor pool, while its communal outdoor pools are unheated and operate seasonally. That can suit an apartment holiday with swimming as one part of the day. Ask separately about children’s access, supervision, opening times and whether changing facilities are close to the pool.
A seasonal statement can be much narrower than it sounds
Imperial Island’s FAQ specifies November for indoor-pool heating and says the outdoor and children’s pools are not heated. This is exactly why a hotel appearing in a heated-pool search is not enough. A photograph, an indoor-pool symbol and a heating policy answer three different questions. If a listing uses an older hotel name, establish that you are reading the current property’s facilities before comparing rates.
Four questions to send before paying
Name the pool rather than asking only whether the hotel has heating. Ask: will that pool be open and heated throughout our dates; can children of our ages use it; are there restricted family swimming sessions; and is access included in this room rate? If temperature is crucial, ask for the intended operating temperature and how weather affects it. We do not publish a guaranteed temperature where the hotel has not supplied one.
Choose the room around the swimming routine
For a toddler, a short indoor route from changing room to pool may matter more than the largest outdoor pool. For an adult who wants lengths, ask about pool size and scheduled activities. For a couple wanting quiet time, distinguish an adults-only spa pool from a family pool. Keep written confirmation with your booking, especially when the pool is the deciding factor in choosing a non-refundable rate.
Build a winter stay that still works without swimming
Shortlist a hotel you would enjoy if maintenance or bad weather interrupted a swim. Harbour walks, an indoor museum visit and a restaurant nearby give the holiday another shape. Compare the hotel’s location alongside its pool policy: an indoor facility does not make an isolated property convenient for evenings out without a car. Our winter and rainy-day guides help you build those alternatives.
