Tombs of the Kings · HOTEL GUIDE
Elysium: plan your stay
Elysium offers a different starting point from the hotels south of Paphos harbour. Its position beside the Tombs of the Kings makes it a strong comparison for visitors who want coastal hotel time with archaeology close by, while keeping harbour and Old Town visits as separate plans.

Couples and families looking for a coastal hotel beside the Tombs of the Kings area.
Worth weighing up
The Tombs of the Kings and the harbour archaeological park are different sites; proximity to one does not mean both are next door.
Which part of Paphos is this?
Elysium is north of the harbour, in the Tombs of the Kings coastal area. Use that location when comparing it with Annabelle or Almyra: the daily starting point changes even though all are described as Paphos hotels. The avenue, archaeological entrance and coastal path are not interchangeable map points. Check the actual route for the place you want to visit, especially if steps or uneven ground affect your plans.
Pool facilities and access differences
The leisure facilities include a multi-level outdoor pool, an indoor pool, tennis courts and a spa. The Royal Pool is reserved for eligible adult guests staying in Royal Studios and Royal Garden Villas; it is not a general pool available with every room. That is a useful detail to check before paying for a room upgrade or choosing the hotel because of a particular pool photograph.
Family rooms and adult accommodation
Elysium welcomes families and has several accommodation layouts, including maisonettes and villas. Some room categories carry their own age restrictions. Compare the number of beds, where they sit and whether a room uses stairs before booking with children or anyone who needs easier access. A larger quoted floor area alone does not tell you whether the layout will be comfortable for your party.
How to balance hotel days and sightseeing
A morning at Tombs of the Kings followed by hotel time is a natural pairing here. For the harbour and mosaics, give yourself a separate outing rather than treating every historic stop as one attraction. The Old Town brings a different setting again, with streets, cafés and inland viewpoints. Decide on the return journey before going out if you are relying on buses or taxis.
What to compare against the room rate
Look at the room’s outlook, dining basis and any category-specific benefits alongside its price. Indoor-pool heating and outdoor services may be seasonal, so confirm the facilities that matter for your travel month. If your priority is repeated harbour evenings, compare the practical location with a southern seafront hotel; if archaeology and a quieter hotel day are central, Elysium deserves a closer look.
BEFORE YOU BOOK
Compare the room, not just the hotel.
Confirm access to any exclusive pool or lounge, room age restrictions and step-free routes. Do not assume a facility shown in the hotel gallery is included with every room.
