Leonidas Village Houses: plan your stay
Choose Leonidas for a small village stay with a kitchen and time to explore the countryside near Polis. The five traditional houses share a courtyard and pool. The decisive detail is the layout: some houses have internal stairs and others use an outdoor staircase between the living space and bedrooms.

A good fit for
Independent travellers with a car who want a traditional village base rather than a coastal resort.
Worth weighing up
Goudi is inland, with journeys for beach days and wider dining choice; the houses have materially different access arrangements.
Goudi is a countryside choice
Goudi lies inland from Polis, in the wider Paphos district. Choose this as a base for village time and northern-coast outings, not as an outlying neighbourhood of Paphos harbour. Our recommendation is to have a car, or pre-arranged transport for the whole stay. Buy provisions before settling in and decide where dinner will happen on the first evening. The appeal is being away from the resort strip; the consequence is that meals out and beach visits need a little organisation.
The house letter matters, not just the bedroom count
The operator distinguishes a ground-floor studio, One Bedroom House A with internal wooden stairs, and One Bedroom House B arranged at ground-floor level. Its two-bedroom houses have bedrooms reached by an external wooden staircase. That is important with young children, limited mobility or anyone wanting an indoor route between the lounge and bedroom at night. Choose the named house configuration before comparing price. Ground-floor accommodation alone is not a verified promise of step-free access from the car.
A shared courtyard, not an exclusive villa
There are five individual traditional houses around a common yard, garden and swimming pool. You have your own accommodation, but the pool is shared with other guests. This can suit a couple or several households wanting a small setting without renting a whole villa. A group should establish which houses it has reserved rather than assume the complex is exclusive. If privacy around the pool is the main reason for booking, a private-villa search is the more appropriate comparison.
Kitchens and cooler-season evenings
The houses have equipped kitchens and independently controlled air conditioning and heating. The operator lists fireplaces in the houses except the studio, so that feature should not be inferred from general photographs. A kitchen is useful for a relaxed breakfast before driving out, and a meal in after a longer outing. Laundry facilities are listed at an extra charge. For a winter stay, prioritise the living layout and heating arrangements over the presence of the outdoor pool.
Let the village base shape the holiday
Combine Polis and Latchi on a coastal day, then give an Akamas walk or boat departure its own plan. Keep some unstructured time around the house instead of returning only to sleep. If several days of archaeology and harbour evenings in Paphos are equally important, split the trip between a town hotel and Goudi. This preserves the reason for choosing a village stay and avoids paying in driving time for accommodation that does not match the itinerary.
BEFORE YOU BOOK
Compare the room, not just the hotel.
Reserve the exact house layout, especially internal versus external stairs, and arrange arrival and first-evening dining. The swimming pool is shared.
