Amavi, MadeForTwo Hotels: plan your stay

Amavi is a focused option for a holiday for two. Its couples-only approach and seafront position suit visitors who want a quieter hotel setting without making every evening away from the resort a major journey.

A good fit for

Adult couples who want hotel dining, sea views and time together.

Worth weighing up

Its couples-only policy makes it unsuitable for families with children or a mixed-age wedding group staying together.

A couples-only base on the southern seafront

Amavi sits along Poseidonos Avenue, south of the harbour. That places it on the coastal hotel strip rather than in the Old Town or Coral Bay. The immediate attraction is the balance between staying at the hotel and taking a waterfront outing. Allow for the actual distance back from the harbour, particularly after dinner, rather than assuming that a seafront location means every central attraction is beside reception.

Dining is part of the decision

The hotel’s Half Board Premium concept is built around several restaurants, including buffet and more structured dining experiences. Restaurant reservations, the number of included visits, seasonal opening and dress requirements matter as much as the meal-plan name. Compare the current inclusions attached to your booking, especially for a short stay when you may not have enough nights to use every dining option.

Pools and time at the hotel

The leisure offering includes the Saffire and Evera pool areas alongside spa facilities. For a holiday where you expect to stay in the hotel for much of the day, look at the combination of pools, dining and room outside space. For a sightseeing-heavy week, consider whether you will use the facilities enough to justify choosing this style of stay.

Honeymoons and wedding guests

A couples-only hotel can be appealing after a wedding or for guests travelling as pairs. It is less straightforward if the wedding party includes children or plans to meet at different hotels. Confirm the ceremony venue and all wedding-day transport independently. Do not treat a nearby hotel’s restaurant or pool as a meeting place for outside guests without checking its visitor policy.

Planning a few days beyond the hotel

Keep one day flexible for the harbour and archaeological park, then choose a bigger outing that adds something different. A sunset cruise can suit a couples’ break, but its departure point and return time need to work with any restaurant booking. If you choose a mountain or village tour, compare the pickup arrangements and walking involved before filling the rest of that evening.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Compare the room, not just the hotel.

Check the minimum age, restaurant reservations, included speciality visits and cancellation conditions for your exact rate. A package description is not a promise that every restaurant operates every evening.
