Sunny Hill Hotel Apartments: plan your stay

Sunny Hill suits travellers who want an apartment base above the coast, with a pool and room to prepare their own meals. Choose it if you are comfortable organising journeys around Chloraka and beyond. Its elevated setting is part of the appeal, but it is not a substitute for a hotel directly on the promenade.

A good fit for

Independent couples and families wanting self-catering between central Paphos and Coral Bay.

Worth weighing up

Hillside terrain and journeys to the main resort centres; a sea-facing setting does not guarantee a sea-view room.

Chloraka is a base between destinations

Sunny Hill sits in Chloraka, north of central Paphos and south of the Kissonerga and Coral Bay coast. Choose one direction for each main outing: harbour and archaeology to the south, or a Coral Bay beach day farther north. Neither is the hotel’s immediate neighbourhood. A car makes wider exploration easier, while a car-free stay needs a realistic budget for bus and taxi journeys rather than an assumption that every evening destination is walkable.

The hillside is the important trade-off

The operator describes apartments on a terrace looking towards the sea. That elevation gives the property a different character from the hotels directly beside the shore, but also makes the route back relevant after a day out. If slopes are tiring, compare the actual pedestrian route and arrival access before choosing this base. For someone whose priority is stepping straight out onto a flat waterfront, a coastal property is the stronger starting point.

Use the apartment as an apartment

The accommodation has an open living area and kitchenette with an oven, alongside air conditioning and a balcony. Booking listings distinguish one-bedroom and sea-view options from other outlooks. Pay for the view only if time on the balcony matters to you; prioritise the sleeping arrangement if travelling with children. A separate bedroom is useful when the living area remains available in the evening, but less so if it becomes the children’s sleeping space.

Pool time and meals without an all-inclusive assumption

Facilities advertised by the operator include an outdoor pool, restaurant, bar, parking and Wi-Fi. That gives you a choice between a simple meal in and eating at the property, subject to the service available during your stay. It does not make every meal part of the room price. Compare the booked board basis, and do not build a winter holiday around the pool without established opening and heating arrangements. The apartment and location should still work if swimming is limited.

A useful rhythm for several days

Spend the first day getting your bearings around Chloraka, then separate central Paphos sightseeing from a beach outing to Coral Bay. Keep groceries and other errands on the return from an outing instead of creating another journey. For a wider countryside day, return before you are tired of driving unfamiliar roads. If most planned evenings are at Paphos harbour, compare the extra transport cost with a more central apartment before committing.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Compare the room, not just the hotel.

Choose the advertised apartment outlook and sleeping layout. For slope-sensitive travellers, establish the access route rather than relying on a sea-view photograph.
