Palates Hotel: plan your stay
Palates is a family-run, stone-built hotel in Droushia, suited to a holiday where the village setting is a reason to stay. It is a useful alternative to a large coastal resort if you want to spend time inland and make selected trips to the sea.

A good fit for
Independent visitors who value a village base and are happy to organise their own coastal excursions.
Worth weighing up
Views towards the coast do not put the beach within a casual stroll, and a village hotel offers a different scale of facilities from a resort.
Choose Droushia deliberately
The village lies in the wider Paphos district, inland from the coast. Palates describes views towards the Akamas, mountains and sea, but the day-to-day experience is a village stay. If you expect repeated evening walks around Paphos harbour, this is the wrong base. If you want a quieter setting between outings, it belongs on the shortlist.
A smaller hotel calls for a simpler comparison
Begin with the room layout, outside space and meal basis, rather than comparing a long list of resort facilities. The stone-built setting is part of the appeal. For anyone avoiding stairs or travelling with a pushchair, ask about the specific room route instead of assuming all accommodation within a traditional property has the same access.
Plan a coastal day rather than a coastal commute
Polis and Latchi make a coherent north-coast outing, with a meal and harbour time. Coral Bay is a different coastal choice. Pick the one that suits the day and leave time to return to Droushia; combining both with Paphos town turns a relaxed village stay into a lot of driving.
Use the season to choose the activity
A hill-village stay is appealing for scenery and time outside, but summer afternoons and cooler winter evenings call for different plans. Start a longer outdoor outing early in hot weather and bring a layer for later. Do not choose the hotel on the assumption that the temperature or beach conditions will match a forecast for central Paphos.
When another base would work better
Droushia Heights is the closest comparison for the same village. Paradisos Hills offers another inland setting, while Souli Beach brings you down to the Latchi coast. Choose between them by the place you want to return to each evening. That is more useful than treating every property in the district as an interchangeable Paphos hotel.
